Trauma & Sex Addiction Professionals Program
The Compassion Collective for Professionals is a membership program that helps seasoned sex addiction or trauma professionals avoid burnout, by providing adequate support in helping therapists gain clarity, confidence, & maintain high quality work.
Advanced Recovery Program
The Compassion Collective for Recovery is a group program that helps individuals in the advanced stages of recovery from sex addiction go from just maintaining sobriety to establishing deeper and more sustained long term recovery.
Workshops, Coaching, & Consulting
1:1 Coaching & Consulting is available to clients on a case by case basis. Marie provides 1:1 coaching on a very limited basis, and those interested should reach out directly to discuss with Marie what option might best suit their current needs.
MEET THE EXPERT
Marie Woods is a therapist specializing in the treatment of sex addiction, betrayal trauma, & complex trauma.
Prior to working in her private practice, Marie worked in some of the nation’s top residential treatment centers in the field of sex addiction – The Meadows Behavioral Health (Arizona) and Pine Grove Behavioral Health (Mississippi). She has trained with world renowned experts in the field of addiction treatment including Dr. Patrick Carnes, Dr. Claudia Black, Pia Mellody, and Dr. Peter Levine.
Her work at the Gentle Path treatment program has allowed her to acquire and develop a model for helping recovering sex addicts establish and maintain long term sobriety. Her current work focuses on group programming for individuals in advanced sex addiction recovery as well as designing customized workshops for couples. She currently runs multiple supervision groups for candidates working towards their certification in sex addiction treatment. Additionally she has developed a membership program specifically for trauma and/or sex addiction professionals to provide ongoing consult and real time support both during and after certification. Marie’s training and clinical interests also include codependency, love addiction, internet/technology addiction, work and financial issues, and other intimacy challenges.
Marie is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is also a member of the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and the Somatic Experiencing Institute.
She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University in San Diego, CA. She received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Troy University in Troy, AL.
